It’s been about a month that I have been on the IBD Healthline app and in this post I will share my favorite features and why I recommend this app for anyone with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. By the way, if you haven’t joined the app yet, you must download it today!

Groups

I touched on the groups feature in my first post about IBD Healthline and it is still my favorite feature! To recap, there is a tab in the app with a dozen or so different categories, like “Navigating Healthcare,” ” Inspiration,” and “Newly Diagnosed” to name a few examples. By entering a group, you’ll find conversation threads pertaining to the group topic.

I appreciate this so much because as the community continues to grow and the volume of interactions become more abundant, conversations are going to stand out less. When someone posts a diet question in the “Diet & Alternative Therapies” group, others going through those threads will see it and be able to answer!

My favorite group is “Personal Community.” In this group you can chat about anything related to family, friends, dating, and relationships. This can be a tricky part of IBD to navigate because there is SO much gray area. The dynamics of friend circles, coworkers, and of course, family members varies so much, including how people respond to someone with IBD.

The Impact of IBD Healthline

Have you ever had a burning question about IBD? Like you are having a strange symptom, or want to find out about medication side effects, but don’t have anyone to ask, or maybe only one or two people?

That alone is game-changer of IBD Healthline. Being able to crowdsource in a matter of minutes is what I think is so beneficial. This is having the Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis community at our fingertips!

Ready to Join?

This is a free app (I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like “free!”). There’s no worry about a financial commitment.

Just download it from your app store and make an account. Then you are officially a member of the IBD Healthline community!
