It's day 4 of the ✨ take back your life with IBD m It's day 4 of the ✨ take back your life with IBD mini-series and today is all about HOW you eat.

It's just as important as WHAT you eat.

Digestion starts in the 🧠!

When you're engaged vs stressed or distracted, then the gut-brain connection is uninterrupted, thus triggering the proper production of saliva and other gastric juices needed to break down the incoming food.

When this crucial part of digestion is blocked (cue: rushed, distracted, or stressful eating, or living in survival mode when you're always in this state) that messaging isn't happening. Saliva and gastric juices are insufficient for food breakdown, which can lead to poor motility and a variety of G.I. symptoms, as well as irritation that can lead to inflammation in the gut.

Of course, since the digestive system is the door to the rest of the body, this can have a downstream effect on other systems like your mood, skin, hormones, etc.

By simply eating in the right state, you can greatly improve your body's abilities to digest and use your food.

🧠⚡️ Don't forget, I'm sharing tips like this and much more on the free, live workshop this Monday, August 31st!!! comment or DM "workshop" for the link to sign up!

DAY 3: take back your life with IBD {mini series}! DAY 3: take back your life with IBD {mini series}!! 🥦

Mindset matters baaaabyy!

It's not just rah rah rahh BS — your perspective on your healing can get you to your healing goals or create a giant roadblock.

Your homework:
Start a routine upon waking and before going to sleep, reinforce a healing belief system using mantras such as:

Every cell in my body is healthy and thriving.
Today I feel good and safe in my body.
My body is always working for me and is on my side.

When you notice a thought that resents your body or puts blame somewhere, rewrite this to a healing mantra.

Change who you are to change what you experience.

And don't forget, I'm hosting a free, live workshop called: take back your life with IBD 🍋⚡️💪 on Monday 8/31! Comment or DM me "workshop" to sign up!!

MINI SERIES DAY 2 🥳🌱 Take back your life with IBD MINI SERIES DAY 2 🥳🌱 Take back your life with IBD (because it's TIMEEEE)

A nutrient dense diet is a majorrrrr pillar of being a person who thrives with IBD (I'm sure you picked up on that already). There's sooo much more to the diet conversation (and my ebook tackles a lot — DM ebook for that).

Flare diets are not how to reach thriving status, BUT, they're necessary while the body is inflamed and sensitive.

Removing raw, high fibrous foods as well as gluten and dairy are part of my flare-healing process, as well as leaning a lot into warm, cooked meals.

From there, optimizing meals for protein and diverse whole foods is the goal. Starting with breakfast just makes sense as this is where many people start their day off nutritionally, the wrong way.

Start with an egg or protein smoothie if you're not a big breakfast eater and add in more protein, fruit, veg, and other ingredients as you go. You can have soups or other leftovers as well. Keep it whole foods, keep it protein focused, and start getting in the habit of fueling properly for the day.

This meal can greatly influence your cravings, your hunger, your energy, and your mood for the whole day. If you want to be a self-healer, then make your nutrition a priority.

🌱🤸🏼‍♂️ Don't forget, I'm running a free, Take Back Your Life with IBD workshop, liveeee on Monday, August 31st. Comment or DM "workshop" for the link to sign up!!!
