Hello, all!
We are almost through with our first month of 2016. How are your resolutions/goals going? Please share those with me!
I am proud to say I have stayed committed to exercise! At least every other day I have been walking, doing yoga, or both. I feel so great afterwards, like I am revving up my bodily systems to work at their finest potential for the day. Yoga especially makes my stomach feel calm yet refreshed.
I am trying to still be mindful while eating. It can be hard, and I find myself thinking mid-bite, “Oh yeah, chew this bite really well!” And also putting my phone down when I find myself scrolling and chewing!
I’ve made a few smoothies but I am committed to making more, I just haven’t had a chance lately to get the ingredients I need. I should be posting pictures of those in the near future. Make sure to like my pages on Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter to stay connected. 😉
A Step Back in Conventional Medicine
If you do follow me on social media, you may have seen that I am testing out some new (or old?) waters. I had an appointment with a new gastroenterologist at a Boston hospital last week. I had blood drawn, which showed signs of inflammation (not very surprising) but little else!
I have an endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled mid-February, and an MRE at the end of February. I see copious amounts of horrid tasting liquids in my future… 🙁
I am excited to have these tangible results, and to especially see what is going on inside. From there I will discuss with my doctor what is available for medications these days, as I have not been on medication in a long time. Ideally there is something without serious side effects that can help me get through the dreaded winters.
On the bright side, only 43 days until I can be in the Florida sunshine that my body craves. Hallelujah!
